No hood? Where do the cooking “sentiments” escape? Really nice corner, I mean, curve work.

A hood was a bridge too far. That wall is 20″ from the neighboring house, so new venting cannot be installed thereupon. But there’s an extra plug behind the stove; one could put in a non-vented unit. But I figure the 10+ plus ceilings serve as the vent space. Also, I never cook fish.

20 inches?!?! I thought my house was close to my neighbors. I’ve got twelve feet and on breezy day I can almost… well never mind. I actually like my neighbors. Really. No, really…

I’m at year two for hot having a kitchen in my own abode. My countertop is an old Luaun door across two tall saw horses. I did reinstall the new dishwasher after having the tile laid, the new plumbing, electrical and drywall completed. Love that thing. I’ve been remodeling this place for twenty years. Heck, I’m staying till the next real estate bubble at least. If I’m done by then…

One of my neighbors (who is an electrician and more, and taught me how to run Romex), has been working on his for more than six years and STILL has no floor. And the hilarious thing is, he’s also a chef, and makes delicious stuff for our neighborhood potlucks on a hot plate and in a toaster oven in his living room. (Note: I’ve offered numerous times to help him at least put in the sub floor.)

Hot plate, microwave, a toaster oven big enough for casseroles and pies, and most important, the coffeemaker. I also have to give a nod to my Weber. Living in FL, I can use it year round. Fire is good…
